Jacksonville Zoo Wishlist

In addition to providing outstanding care for the animals and plants here at the Jacksonville Zoo, we are committed to protecting native populations in the wild, and we could not do it without your help! Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens currently supports more than 40 programs in our backyard and across the globe. Looking for ways to support the Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens? You can donate items featured on our wishlist that help us protect wildlife both in our zoo and around the world. Please note: To ensure our animals’ well-being, we cannot accept homemade or expired items. 

 

What We Need

The Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens welcomes gift cards from home improvement and pet stores as well as donations. We accept the following donations from the public:

Dietary Enrichment Needs:
  • Dried fruits in unopened packaging
  • 100% sugar-free fruit or vegetable juice
  • Sugar-free jelly
  • Regular grape jelly
  • Honey
  • Creamy natural peanut butter (no added sweeteners)
  • Applesauce
  • Powerade
  • PediaSure (banana or strawberry)
  • Mango or papaya baby food
Sensory Enrichment Needs:
  • Spices of any kind, especially cinnamon, clove, and nutmeg
  • Perfumes of any kind (can be opened but must be in original container)
  • Polished stainless steel mirrors
  • Disney movies or nature DVDs
  • Kong toys
Occupational Enrichment Needs:
  • Paintbrushes
  • Canvas
  • Non-toxic, child-proof paints
Physical Enrichment Needs:
  • Pinatas
  • Milk crates
  • Frisbees
  • Blankets (clean if used)
  • Towels (clean if used)
Other Zoo Needs:
  • Digital video cameras
  • Vacuum cleaners
  • Wet/dry vacs
  • Industrial brooms
  • Floor squeegees
  • Leaf blowers (gas or rechargeable, not electric)
  • Mop buckets
  • Pressure washers (min 2500 psi)
  • Refrigerators
  • Spotting scopes
  • Binoculars

Enrichment is an integral part of the daily care of the animals at the Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens. Enrichment efforts help our animals demonstrate their natural behavior, add variety to their day, and exercise, while enhancing their well-being. The Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens wishlist on Amazon is formed of enrichment items we use to keep our animals happy and healthy. Your gifts are tax deductible to the extent permitted by law.
