February 11, 2023: The Snuggle is Real
Come spend some koala-ty time with your family at this Valentine's day Wild Family Workshop. We will spend this workshop talking about the snuggliest animals that call the Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens home. Are otters as friendly as they are cute? Why are those lemurs making so much noise? Can our stingrays sting you? Find out the answers to these questions and more! Plus, we'll meet some of the cutest and cuddliest animal ambassadors.
*Although this workshop will have you spending koala-ty time with your family, please note Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens does not have any resident koalas. We will still see some other very cute and snuggly animals that call Zoo home.
March 11, 2023: Where the Sidewalk Ends
There once was a poet named Shel
Whose poetry books sold quite well
You can come to the Zoo
For limericks and haikus
And have your own story to tell
Join us for fun with poetry, crafts, and more as we go out and explore!
April 8, 2023: April Showers Bring May Flowers
Oh snapdragon! This month we're emphasizing the "gardens" part of Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens. During this workshop we will learn about the ins and outs of plants and gardening. First we'll stroll through all of our amazing gardens to find out about some of the fun and unique plants we have here at the Zoo. We'll spend some "thyme" discovering and learning about the most popular plants native to Florida and our area. A little gardening of our own and a visit from some garden friendly animal ambassadors will leaf you feeling so fresh and so green.
