Established in 2017, Toast to Conservation celebrates Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens' commitment to protecting threatened animals, plants, and ecosystems around the globe. The Zoo and Gardens' wildlife conservation programs now include over 45 organizations locally and globally with over $1.25 million directed to conservation over the past six years. By joining us, you can play a part in saving these incredible species.

Guest Speaker: Ian Craig
SAVING WILDLIFE THROUGH COMMUNITY CONSERVATION
Ian Craig is world renowned for his work in creating and directing The Lewa Wildlife Conservancy, both for Lewa’s phenomenal conservation achievements and its community development success. Lewa is the leading sanctuary for black rhinos and Grevy’s zebra in east Africa, and provides a secure environment for a host of other endangered or threatened species. The Conservancy is also famous for its provision of health clinics, schools, and water supplies, and for providing advisory assistance in agriculture, livestock management and reforestation to its surrounding communities.
Craig is also the Founder/Director of Conservation at The Northern Rangelands Trust and was awarded the Order of the British Empire from Queen Elizabeth II for services to conservation and security to communities in Kenya.
