The Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens offers educational, engaging, and interactive learning experiences for students of all ages! Come to the Zoo for a self-guided field trip, or add an education program or guided tour to maximize the experience for your students while you are here. From biology and ecosystems to history and geography, there are a variety of ways our team can incorporate learning into your Zoo visit.
Nearly 50% of our annual field trips occur during March, April, and May. Our programming & lunch calendar fills to capacity during this time. To avoid the reservation rush, make your reservation as soon as possible.
Yes, we do, but in order to receive these discounted rates, field trip organizers must collect payment in advance and make one group payment at the front gate with a buisness check or credit card. Individuals who pay separately will be charged the full admission rates and not recieve the group rate. We do not accept cash, personal checks, or PO’s. If your group is tax exempt, please bring a copy of the tax exempt form on the day of the trip.

This rate is available Monday - Friday for groups of 15 or more during the school year. One chaperone per 10 children is required.
Program options are available for PreK-12th grades.

Are your students buzzing with wildlife questions? We can connect to your class virtually before or after your field trip for a quick Q&A session! Just have your students write letters or gather your students’ questions and send them to us prior to the call. We will answer as many questions as time allows.
This rate is for groups of 15 or more paid guests during the summer months and on weekends. This rate is also used for groups during the school year that are not affiliated with a school. One adult chaperone per 10 children is required.
Our picnic garden is currently located inside of the Zoo, just around the corner from our Mombasa Gift shop. Please keep in mind that the area is open to the public and tables are available on a first come, first serve basis. You are allowed to bring in coolers and outside food into this area only.
We are redesigning our Field Trip lunch program! In the meantime, all field trips are welcome to bring lunches and use our picnic garden.
To schedule your field trip to the Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens, please fill out the Field Trip Request Form below. We require all field trip requests be submitted two weeks in advance. Please fill out the following information in its entirety. Your reservation can not be processed without completed information.
We ask that before scheduling, your dates are confirmed and approved by your organization and any transportation departments that you might be using.
