Educate over 1 million visitors
Care for more than 2,500 animals and 1,000 plant species
Support local conservation efforts, including an employee-volunteer Marine Mammal Response team and more than 45 conservation projects worldwide
We want to be bold. Revolutionary. To become the #1 Zoo in the United States while doubling down on our commitment to environmental education and global conservation. But first, it’s time to renovate. We can’t increase our care of critically endangered species without the addition of new, wellness-inspired habitats and technology to help us bridge the gap between modern life and the natural world. And our summer camps, educational opportunities, and events are severely limited by space constraints.
REZOOVENATION will touch nearly every corner of the Zoo, beginning with an innovative, immersive arrival experience and benefiting animals and visitors alike. Both new and expanded animal habitats will reflect our commitment to wellness-inspired designs and one-of-a-kind animal experiences, allowing more than a million guests each year to be inspired as they meander through exquisite ecosystems, learning about the diversity of the natural world in new and exciting ways.

The first phase of REZOOVENATION includes the construction of Manatee River, being supported first by $3 million from J. Wayne and Delores Barr Weaver, Honorary Chairs of the campaign.

This bold vision can only be achieved through partnerships with our community—individuals, corporations, foundations, and local government. The City of Jacksonville has demonstrated its support of the Zoo and this project by making a five-year matching pledge of $5M per year! Now, we invite others to join this exciting endeavor.
