Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens welcomes educators and students to experience all that wildlife and nature have to offer. Educators receive a discount on memberships, and we also offer programs throughout the year designed to provide resources for teachers and homeschooling parents. The Zoo offers multiple resources for educators to help engage students in the classroom and at the zoo. Our educator e-newsletter allows educators to be the first to know about workshops for teachers, open houses at the zoo, and more.
The Jacksonville Zoo hosts Career Awareness Days which invite teachers and elementary, middle, and high school students to learn more about zoo careers. Guests will have the opportunity to meet zookeepers and other zoo staff and learn more about internships, volunteer opportunities, and post-secondary education paths that can lead to a career in a zoo.
Looking for fun ways to engage your students? Scavenger hunts at the Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens are ideal for educators of elementary, middle, and high school students seeking to incorporate learning into a fun and interactive environment.
