The Jacksonville Zoo offers educational programs for families to provide opportunities for parents, grandparents, and children to learn more about wildlife, nature, and the importance of conservation. From workshops to animal encounters, family education programs at the Jacksonville Zoo are both fun and informative.
Join the squad! Bring your 5-7 year old to the zoo for a Saturday Safari with the Safari Squad. Each month we will have a different exciting theme that will send your young explorer on an exciting adventure that revolves around one of our animal exhibits here at the Jacksonville Zoo. These special themed programs will include up-close encounters with our Education Animal Ambassadors, activities, and a stroll through that months section of the zoo.
Hey parents! Are you looking for a fun and exciting adventure the whole family can enjoy together? Wild Family Workshops will be an opportunity for you to spend quality time together, explore and learn about plants and animals, while participating in hands-on, nature-based activities. Each class will include Education Animal Ambassadors.
Outdoor Explore! is the Jacksonville Zoo’s family nature club. Each month we meet in a different location to explore the green spaces around our city and interact with the natural world. Outdoor Explore! is intended for children in 2nd-5th grade and their siblings of all ages!
When school is out, Zoo Camp is IN! If you’re looking for an affordable summer camp in Jacksonville which is both educational and engaging, look no further than the Jacksonville Zoo. Spring, summer, and winter camps at the Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens give children in K-5th grades (plus 6th-8th grades in the summer) the opportunity to spend their break exploring the best of what the Zoo has to offer. Campers will participate in hands-on games and activities, chat with keepers, and meet our education animal ambassadors up close. There’s no better way to have a wild day!
