The Jacksonville Zoo offers educational programs for families to provide opportunities for parents, grandparents, and children to learn more about wildlife, nature, and the importance of conservation. From workshops to animal encounters, family education programs at the Jacksonville Zoo are both fun and informative.
Pack up the stroller, put on your walking shoes and bring your little one on an early learning adventure as we stroll through the Zoo. This special class is designed for children ages 0-3 and a caregiver. Make new friends while you visit animal exhibits, meet a friendly animal ambassador, and explore the animal world with all your senses!
Hey parents! Are you looking for a fun and exciting adventure the whole family can enjoy together? Wild Family Workshops will be an opportunity for you to spend quality time together, explore and learn about plants and animals, while participating in hands-on, nature-based activities.
Homeschool Zoocademy at the Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens is offered for students ages 5-15 and covers a wide range of topics in biology, zoology, environmental science, and conservation, and more.
This year we will be offering both virtual and in-person options. Our in-person classes will have an extremely limited capacity, so you can sign up month-to-month and enroll in a combination of virtual and in-person sessions depending on availability.
When school is out, Zoo Camp is IN! If you’re looking for an educational and engaging camp experience, look no further than the Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens. Spring, summer, and winter camps at the Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens give children in K-5th grades (plus 6th-8th grades in the summer) the opportunity to spend their break exploring the best of what the Zoo has to offer. Campers will participate in hands-on games and activities, chat with keepers, and meet our education animal ambassadors up close. There’s no better way to have a wild day!
Outdoor Explore! is the Jacksonville Zoo’s free family nature club. Each month we meet in a different location to explore the green spaces around our city and interact with the natural world. Outdoor Explore! is intended for children in 2nd-5th grade and their siblings of all ages!
