Our Horticulture staff invites you to come stroll with us through the gardens. Discover the unique and exciting plants that make our gardens green. Discuss the mysteries of maintaining the beauty. Develop a passion for the love of gardening.

Tour group meets outside the ticket booths at 8:45 a.m. for check in, tours start at 9 a.m. and are limited to 30 people. Pre-registration is required!
April 7: Intro to Bonsai
Learn and discover what the art of bonsai is all about. In this class you will learn the basics to get started in the hobby of bonsai, the centuries-old Asiatic art of dwarfing trees and shrubs grown in pots or small spaces. The class discusses the history of bonsai, basic bonsai styles, and the various techniques you will need to know to keep your bonsai tree looking good, alive and healthy.
June 2: Xeric gardens are not just for rocks
The summers are becoming hotter and dryer; heat, humidity, and summer stress, are all factors in our north Florida gardening endeavors. Learn about some of our heat busting favorites as we peruse the gardens, and find some new drought tolerant plants for your yard.
September 1: Every Rose Has Its Prickle
Plants may seem all feeble and weak but watch out many can defend themselves. Come and learn about some of the many defense mechanisms plants have to protect themselves from animals, humans and even other plants. This tour will include a quick sit and learn, then we will stroll around the zoo to identify some of the well armored plants in the gardens.
October 6: Pollinator Passion
Our pollinator friends need our help, with expansive turf grass yards continually being developed, local pollinator wildlife has less available food and habitat in which to survive. Come Bee inspired with us and see how easy it is to help our little hard working nature friends by adding a few plants and some habitat to the garden. This condensed tour will be accompanied with a demonstration on how to construct different pollinator habitats.
