The Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens is currently seeking an experienced mammal keeper. A degree in biology or related field and a minimum of 2 years paid experience in an AZA accredited zoo is required.  Prior experience with elephants is preferred.  Duties to include inspection, feeding, cleaning, and maintenance of animals and exhibits. Must have good observation and record keeping skills, be able to interact well with guests and perform well in a team environment.

Applicants should have a solid work history, ability to work in adverse weather conditions, lift up to 50 pounds without difficulty, be able to traverse grounds on foot, bend, rake, sweep, kneel, climb and possess the visual acuity appropriate for animal care and general safety practices.  A valid drivers license is required.
