- Running variety that grows up to 70’ tall with a 5” culm diameter
- Good bamboo for places that get snow but not colder than 5F
- Very upright bamboo that doesn’t lean to the sun
- Thick walled culms makes it one of the most preferred bamboos for building
- Running bamboo has the potential to spread rapidly if not controlled
- In the right conditions can grow up to 40” a day
- Shoots are edible although bitter when eaten raw
