Notes:

  • Running variety that grows up to 70’ tall with a 5” culm diameter
  • Good bamboo for places that get snow but not colder than 5F
  • Very upright bamboo that doesn’t lean to the sun
  • Thick walled culms makes it one of the most preferred bamboos for building
  • Running bamboo has the potential to spread rapidly if not controlled
  • In the right conditions can grow up to 40” a day
  • Shoots are edible although bitter when eaten raw
