Saturday Garden Tour – Spring Cleaning!
at Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens

March 7, 2009 at 9:00 a.m.

February 17, 2009 – Jacksonville, FL – Now is the time for spring cleaning your garden!  The Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens’ next Saturday Garden Tour will take place March 7th, from

9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Come and let us show you how we beautify the gardens by pruning, cutting back, cleaning and fertilizing.  It is dirty work, but the garden will love you for it. Guests should pre-register online at www.jacksonvillezoo.org, and meet outside the Zoo’s ticket booths at 8:45 a.m. 

“Growing season is about to start so now is the time to get out in the garden, clean-up from the freezes and get ready for spring,” said Bob Chabot, director of horticulture and facilities at Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens.  “Don’t give up too early on damaged plants, they may surprise you.”

For over 90 years, the Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens has been dedicated to inspiring the discovery and appreciation of wildlife through innovative experience in a caring environment. Starting in 1914 with an animal collection that consisted of one red deer fawn, the Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens has grown to house more than 1,500 rare and exotic animals and over 1,000 unique plant species.
